This morning I was grooving to Bebop And Beyond on WRIR, a great station out of Richmond, VA. The show is hosted by Dean Christesen, who consistently turns me on to great new music. This morning’s new discovery, courtesy of Dean, was Tigran Hamasyan.
Much to my delight, right after a great track from Sam Yahel I heard the familiar drum set-up to “Mance’s Dance”, one of the tunes from my new CD! It’s such a thrill to hear my own music on the radio, especially in good company like Yahel, Hamasyan, Vijay Iyer, Dave Douglas and the other great artists Dean plays.
But that’s not all: After he played the tune he talked about my 100 CD’s Project! I’m going to have to work on getting some CD’s to Richmond…Dean, you up for it??? 😉
Here’s the audio from the segment for your listening pleasure:

It was my pleasure playing your album and talking about the 100 CDs project! The album is on the new music shelf at the station that any of the DJs can pull from, so I hope it’s getting decent airtime over here. Thanks for posting audio!
And, YES, I would be happy to disperse some CDs around here and take some photos. Sounds like fun!
