Since then I have followed her exploits on Twitter and on her blog, which is always an entertaining read. In addition to her music, she has also become famous for flash mobs, naked photos, and internet savvy.
Yesterday she wrote a blog post called Why I Am Not Afraid To Take Your Money that every working musician and artist should read. In it she clearly lays out her reasoning for not being ashamed or afraid to ask her fans to pay her for her work. This is one of the clearest statements of what I call the New Artist’s Creed that I have read to date.

Love the bit about how inventing this new music economy is going to involve a lot of trial and error. There is no template for what modern musicians are trying to do — twenty years from now, I suspect we’re all going to be amazed at how much the music business has changed. (“Is it really true that artists used to have no control over their careers, grandpa?”)
Cool video – everyone is a-twitter evidently. I shall no longer dismiss it as a passing fad.
