Yesterday was one of those days that was filled with anticipation. I received word from UPS that 7 boxes of my new CD were on the truck for delivery at 5am. It was hard not to sit on my stoop and wait for them to arrive all day, but I tried as best I could to go about my business and not think about it. By 4:30 I had to leave the house for an appointment downtown, and still no CDs.
I begrudgingly left, keeping an eye out for the UPS truck as I left my neighborhood. Through the magic of the iPhone I was able to check the status of the delivery while I was out and about. I didn’t check every 5 minutes. Really, I didn’t. 😉
After running my errands (picking up the suit I’m going to be married in, BTW!), my fiance and I decided to stop for sushi. At the end of the meal I checked the phone one more time, and lo and behold, the CDs had been delivered! It was all I could do to drive the speed limit home, and when I arrived I found this:
Oh happy day! My apologies to the women who have actually had to push a live human being out of their bodies, but it was kind of like giving birth. After months of carrying around the idea of the CD, here it was in front of me.
I can now hold it in my hands, put it in the CD player, sleep with it under the pillow!
The official release date is October 24th, and there will be a CD Release Party at Lucid Jazz Lounge in Seattle on that night. If you can’t wait until then, you can pre-order the disc (and still get in on some cool Micropatronage Packages) or download the mp3s today.
