Josh Rawlings has been my dear friend and closest musical collaborator for many years now. I like to joke that he and I are a “MySpace romance”, because we met when I was trolling that site for bands to share bills with. It was 2006 when I asked Josh if his band Soul Kata would open for my band Water Babies…and the rest is history!

Josh joined the JPQ later that year and has been instrumental (no pun intended) in the band’s progression since. He introduced me to Evan and D’Vonne and has helped me hone and shape the band into what it is today.

Given all that, it’s no stretch to say that Josh has an insiders perspective on the band and our current Nick Drake tribute project.

I spoke with Josh at his house the other day with the video camera rolling, and here’s what he had to say about his perception of what we’re doing:

Thanks Josh for letting me interview you, for all you’ve done for the JPQ, and for your continued friendship. It wouldn’t be the same without you, Brother J!
