Debuts at midnight on Oct. 1st!

This Friday marks the debut of a new project that I’ve been working on for some time now. I am launching a new podcast called Jazz Now! Seattle which will air weekly and feature the best jazz music that Seattle has to offer!

As a recent New Your Times Article pointed out, there is a creative and fertile scene here in Seattle. It’s been bubbling up for some time now, and many people still don’t realize it exists. The goal of Jazz Now! Seattle is to let people know about all the amazing jazz that is happen. We hope to show the good folks of Seattle that they have an incredible treasure trove of music and musicians, as well as spread the word to the rest of the world that Seattle’s jazz scene is one that rivals those in New York, Chicago and San Francisco!

My partner in this project is David Marriott, Jr. He and I are both working musicians who are active on the scene. This gives us a unique perspective as well as unprecedented access to a wide spectrum of musicians. Our goal is to shine the spotlight on all corners of the scene, from hard bop to post-bop, free jazz to funk jazz, big band to boom bap!

I hope you’ll check out our inaugural episode, which will go live on Friday at Jazz Now! Seattle. There you can also subscribe to our RSS Feed or directly to our iTunes download so you’ll get the episodes delivered to you automatically.

After you’ve checked it out, please drop us a line and let us know what you think. We’d love to get your feedback!
