A conversation with Seattle...

Thanks to The Sunbreak, I am now a published jazz journalist! I’ve been a fan of the online magazine for some time now. Their coverage of Seattle arts, politics, culture and news is perfectly suited to my tastes and gives an accurate representation of what our fair city is all about.

I’m excited that I’ve been welcomed into the fold as a contributor. I will be writing about jazz, mostly, since that’s my area of expertise (read: idiot savant). I consider it an honor and a privilege to be granted the space to talk about the wonderful Seattle jazz scene and hope to hip many people to what’s going on right under their nose.

As such, my first article is all about the young and thriving jazz scene that is growing up around places like The Racer Sessions and The Hang, among others.

Here’s the full article: New York Times: Seattle’s Jazz Scene Could Be Model for Other Cities. While you’re there you should poke around the site a little…there’s great stuff there for Seattlites and non-Seattlites alike!

Congratz, Jason. It’s always been fun to read about your professional endeavors, but it seems especially in the last year that you’ve also expanded outwards, giving a good example to the rest of us on how to use social media and ingenuity to bring your skills to a larger audience and a more diverse usage. Looking forward to more.

Great article, Jason. What a cool scene! If I make my way to Seattle again, I’ll have to check that out. Thanks!
