Pre-Sale Available Now!

I’m SO excited to announce the release of the new CD from the Jason Parker Quartet! Five Leaves Left: A Tribute To Nick Drake will be released digitally on March 29, 2011. The CD will follow in April.

I couldn’t wait any longer to make it available, so you can pre-order both the download and the CD now! By pre-ordering, you will ensure that you are among the very first people in the world to hear this music and you’ll also be helping us raise the funds needed to pay for the manufacturing of the CDs.

I’m offering downloads on a “pay-what-you-want” basis. This means you can pay $1, or $5, or $25, whatever you feel the music is worth to you. I believe that you are the only one who can determine what it’s worth and want to leave that decision up to you. I would also like you to know that I appreciate whatever you can give, and all the funds raised will go straight to the production of the physical CDs.

I’m pricing the physical CDs at $12. This will help me cover the costs of manufacturing, mailing, licensing and such. I would love to offer the CDs as a “pay-what-you-want”, but the costs associated with physical goods make that impossible. I hope you understand!

All pre-orders will receive an immediate download of the first single, “Day Is Done”. Download codes for the remaining 9 songs will be emailed to you as soon as they are available, before the digital release date of March 29th. Physical CDs will be mailed to you in April.

You can listen to the first single now by clicking the play button below:

I hope you enjoy the music and would be honored if you’d add it to your collection, either in digital or physical form.

In the meantime, you can get a FREE download of a remix album by Spekulation. “Spek”, as we call him, is a fantastic hip-hop artist I play with, and he did some amazing remixes of tunes from the new CD, which he cut with tunes from Jay-Z! I sent him an early mix of a couple of the tunes for his feedback, and he sent me back remixes that blew my mind! I gave him the go-ahead to cut the tunes up to his heart’s content, and now he has just released Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em: Jay-Z & The Jason Parker Quartet. I think this makes us the first band in history to have a remix album released BEFORE the actual album!

Check it out and download here:

Pretty cool, huh?? I hope this just whets your whistle for our CD.

Hello, I just heard of The Jason Parker Quartet via @mmasnick and ended up here. Loved the single! Great work guys! I decided to preorder a digital copy. Unfortunately I was unable to made the payment without going true PayPal, I delete all my browser cookies and everything but the page keeps telling me that I need to log on Paypal. I’m terrible sorry, but Paypal is a deal breaker for me. I will try later.
Best wishes.

Hi Emiliano!

Glad you found me through Mike! He’s been a big support of ours for a while now.

You don’t actually have to have a PayPal account to purchase the music. See here for how to do it: http://bandcamp.com/buying_without_paypal

Thanks for your support! Can’t wait to share the whole CD with you.

Cheers,
Jason

Hi, Jason,

I’m Lumiere at Nick Drake’s forum.
Ordered your cd already. It’s a must-to-have.
I had listened some other works of yours, but this taste of Day is Done is wonderful.
Instruments, Michele’s voice… perfect.
I loved it.
Surely many others will feel the same.
Cheers,
Lucia
