Our Home for the Next Two Weeks

I can’t tell you how excited I am! Today is the day we leave for the long-awaited Jason Parker Quartet West Coast Tour (well, long-awaited by me, anyway!). We’re driving to Eugene, OR today to play at The Jazz Station, then it’s on down the coast to many other wonderful towns and new audiences.

I am taking my trusty Kodak Zi8 video camera and will be documenting the journey, but I thought it’d be cool to get some footage before we left as well. Below you’ll find two videos shot at our rehearsal two days ago: one of JPQ pianoman Josh Rawlings sharing his feelings about the upcoming tour, and one of our very first run-through of the Paul Simon tune “Can’t Run But”. I was going to edit them down, but ran out of time, so I’m presenting them in their entirety.

Check back for more video of our adventures. I hope to capture what it’s like to be a working band on the road with all the joys, laughs, detours and whatever else comes our way.

Jason,
Your playing sounds better than ever and your band is smoking! Good luck on the tour. I’m sure it will be a blast.
